An initial working meeting between representatives of the Protestant Theological Faculty of Charles University in Prague and the Centre for protestant studies Gáspár Károli from Subotica was held in Prague (the Czech Republic) on April 21, 2023. The Faculty was represented by the dean, doc. Jan Roskovec PhD, and Mrs. Olga Navrátilová PhD, vice-dean for International and Ecumenical Relations. On behalf of the Gáspár Károli Centre, the meeting was participated by Damir Sütő PhD, Centre’s research assistant and international relations envoy.
Dr Sütő informed the Faculty’s representatives about the scientific research programmes set forth by the Gáspár Károli Centre, as well as about some of its heretofore planned activities. Special attention was given to the Centre’s scientific journal project, along with future conferences, including the upcoming 2023 June Károli Forum.
Dr Olga Navrátilová and dr Jan Roskovec presented a number of international projects their Faculty has already been involved with, with special attention being given to the annual archaeological excavation student programme in Israel. The representatives of the Prague Protestant Theological Faculty expressed their overall interest in the works of the Gáspár Károli Centre, along with their readiness to take part in corresponding scientific projects.
The joint conclusion of the initial working meeting’s participants is that there are various opportunities of co-operation between two organizations in scientific research, good examples being participations in conferences and various gatherings organized by the two institutions, membership in editorial boards of their periodicals and other scientific publications, peer-review collaboration, etc.
In the upcoming period, delegates of the Protestant Theological Faculty of Charles University in Prague and the Centre for protestant studies Gáspár Károli from Subotica will additionally specify the possibilities and modalities of co-operation between their two organizations.
