A leading scholar of the Budapest HUN-REN Institute of History Dr Teréz Oborni and the international relations officer of the Subotica Centre for Protestant Studies Gáspár Károli Dr Damir Sütő, on 18 September 2024 held an initial meeting at the HUN-REN Research Centre for the Humanities headquarters in Budapest. At the very beginning, on behalf of the Károli Research Centre, Dr Sütő expressed particular gratitude to Dr Oborni for her constructive participation in the preparation of this year’s Károli Forum, as one of the peer-reviewers of the researches submitted for the conference.
During a very productive meeting, Dr Sütő acquainted his host with major activities of the Subotica Centre for Protestant Studies Gáspár Károli, presenting in more details some of Centre’s ongoing, along with planned projects. Dr Sütő specifically highlighted that any opportunity of cooperation with the HUN-REN Research Centre for the Humanities, and especially with Dr Oborni personally would be a great honour for Károli Research Centre.
Dr Oborni expressed genuine interest in the activities of the Subotica Centre for Protestant Studies Gáspár Károli, highlighting the significance of research areas that are of primary interest to the Centre. During the meeting a number of specific cooperation possibilities were mentioned, of which the most current being collaboration in the upcoming Károli Forum scheduled for June 2025 in Subotica.
On behalf of the HUN-REN Institute of History, Dr Teréz Oborni presented a considerable number of significant publications as a donation to the Károli Library operating within the Subotica Centre for Protestant Studies Gáspár Károli.
