Programme Council Held Its First Web Conference

The President of the Centre for Protestant Studies Gáspar Károli convened a Web Conference of the Centre’s Programme Council for December 30, 2024. The meeting was attended by four Council members and chaired by Dr Damir Sütő, due to the acting president’s justifiable absence.

The major part of the Programme Council meeting was dedicated to issues related to necessary preparations and the organisation of the upcoming annual Károli Forum, which according to the Council’s resolution will take place on June 14, 2025 in Subotica. In observance of the 1700 years anniversary of the First Council of Christian bishops held in Nicaea in 325, the overall topic chosen for Károli Forum MMXXV is ‘From Nicaea to Present: The Shared Faith – Numerous Cultures Phenomena’.

In accordance with the Centre’s Internal Research Regulations, the Programme Council reviewed two applications submitted to the Research Centre. Hence, the Programme Council with a unanimous vote appointed Mr Richárd Morvai-Rácz, a final year history student at the Novi sad University Faculty of Philosophy as the Centre’s standing research assistant.

Likewise, based on a research fellow nomination application submitted by Mr Dávid Fic, Centre’s standing research assistant and a PhD student at the University of Novi Sad Faculty of Sciences, the Programme Council had formed a research fellow candidate evaluation committee, consisting of Dr Dorottya Urbán, Dr Gábor Mondovics and Dr Damir Sütő.
