On April 14, 2025, the Program Council of the Centre for Protestant Studies Gáspár Károli held its first online meeting of the year. Along with Council members (Dr Gábor Mondovics, Dr Damir Sütő, Csaba Szűcs, Izabella Szűcs Kószó, and Dr Dorottya Urbán), the Centre’s secretary Mr. Richárd Morvai-Rácz attended the meeting as well. The meeting was chaired by Dr Damir Sütő, the President of the Programme Council.
At the outset, the Programme Council approved the minutes of its previous meeting, held on December 30, 2024. After that, the Council reviewed the Report on preparations of the upcoming Károli Forum, scheduled for June 14. Also, the Programme Council had unanimously accepted the conclusions of its Evaluation Committee, formed last December, and submitted a motion to the General Assembly in favour of the promotion of Dávid Fic, an in-house standing research assistant and a PhD student of the University of Novi Sad Faculty of Sciences, to the position of the Centre’s Research Fellow.
During the meeting, the participants elaborated on a proposal for forming internal Research Departments according to conventional academic disciplines, on which they expressed a number of viewpoints. In their Resolution, the Council tabled a motion with the General Assembly for forming four Research Departments. In conclusion, the Programme Council discussed on preparatory works in developing the Centre’s Research Activities Programme 2026-2029.
The meeting participants took a special note that one of the Centre’s Research Fellows and a member of the Programme Council, Mr. Viktor Fehér had informed his fellow scholars that he is no longer in a possibility to continue his activities within the Károli Centre.
